Aruna Koroma, is 6 years old was infected by his mother, who attended an Ebola related funeral. Upon her return, she started manifesting signs and symptoms (vis side pain, sore throat, vomiting, cough, cold and fever). Local medication was administered by her husband at home but the condition got worst. The members of the family took her to the community hospital and passed away after few minutes. After two weeks, the father also died with the similar signs and symptoms.
Aruna also started manifesting similar signs to her late mother and father. He was referred to the paramedical holding center where he was tested positive. He was then taken to the Kailahun Ebola Treatment Center and was hospitalized for two weeks. Aruna was treated and brought back to his community Patebana.

Two months after been discharged from the Ebola Treatment Center, Aruna started complaining of post Ebola syndrome vis redness and itching of the eyes and can’t walk under the sun.
Aruna is currently attending school and is in class one. He and his two siblings are presently under the care of their elder sister who is also a senior secondary school pupil who does petty trading after school to support her younger siblings. Aruna’s annual school charges is estimated to be Le 340,000.00 (UDS 68)
